Job Description

JOB PURPOSE
Is responsible for supervision and inspection of the civil works within the Project. Shall ensure that project activities comply with COMPANY rules & project procedures.

ACTIVITIES CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
  • Project is a pre-FID (Final Investment Decision) Engineering, Procurement, Construction, installation and commissioning of Wellpad to centre by 11km pipeline, HV power, and Fibre optics cable.
  • The project is situated in Port-Harcourt in Nigeria (onshore)
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Keep, monitor and follow up as necessary and maintain complete record(s) concerning the execution of the works.
  • Inspect the work done by the contractor(s) to ascertain that work is executed in accordance with the Contract Documents and accepted practise
  • Inspect the on-site and off-site materials to be used in the project and organise field and laboratory tests, conducted by others, on construction materials to ascertain their compliance with the specifications and determine it acceptability for use on the project.
  • Identify potential safety concerns and inform the contractor (s).
  • Implement the site supervision quality procedures, and review submission requirements of the project, along with the contractor.
  • Ensure that all statutory authority / permits / design approvals are available on site for construction.
  • Review the corrective actions proposed by the contractor, respond / follow ups and close out procedure
  • Carry out the final inspection for certification of final completion and handing over of the works.
  • Supervise route issues including Hand Hole clean up, sign placement, and weed control.
  • Determine the actions required to manage each work instruction
  • Ensure that the execution of any work shall not block and subsequently unsettle the existing overland water flow or the existing system of drains.
  • Inspection of the trench and ensure the readiness of the trench prior to backfilling.
  • Supervise the concrete mixing process and Manhole casting.
  • Inspect ‘no go’ zones around hazardous areas and implement safe work distances.
  • Inspect and verify the soil classification/s eg Examining a pilot hole’s dug by the Contractors
  • Note changes in plans of gradient and/or direction
  • Inspection of the trenching, trench width, location of the marking tape and marker post allocations
  • Insure proper excavation and preparation of the trench
  • Proper verification of the required trenching Near Kerbs, Guttering, Paving and Driveway Crossing
  • Support and enforce the COMPANY HSEQ charters, objectives, directives.
  • Review contents of CONTRACTOR Quality Control and Inspection procedures including ITP(s)
  • Attend CONTRACTOR qualification tests (compression tests etc.)
  • Supervise COMPANY Hold/ Monitor/Witness /Review inspection activities
  • Monitor the External audit findings & remarks, and any other reported Quality problems, through periodic meetings with Contractors.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by hierarchy and project management.
HSE OBJECTIVES
  • Familiarize self with TEPNG emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
  • Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Professional Experience in similar position (number of years): 5
  • Experience within Oil & Gas project: (number of years): 5
  • Good knowledge in construction codes and international standards used in O&G industry
  • Must have integrity, be flexible and proactive
  • Must demonstrate ability to act independently as part of a team
  • Good communication skills. Good team player, able to communicate effectively with colleague
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
